From my two, uneven rectangles to the world,
I can see into the fading night. The walls
of my room are darker than the world’s walls,
which are an ashen-orange.
It is so early now, sleep would
be a mid-night nap; one a cat would
take. They love their naps.
Keep up the heat-pump, AC! I’ll just lie
here, wondering up a world under this ashen-orange sky.
