Fine & Fair

Fine & fair, girl, but you don’t
know what you’re missing.

It’s kissing, some, & hugs too,
and presents, whatever, you know the drill.

Would it kill you to give me the time
of day? It doesn’t even have to be accurate,

and I’d be immaculate in love, whatever
that means, but you’ll never know. I don’t dream

of a team race we can’t win. That’s how god damn
good we’d be together: Me and you, you and I.

Just, try to pause an eye-roll when I gesture in
your direction. Ignoring is expected, but does
it have to be this obvious I’ve been rejected?
