Your indifference has rendered me indifferent.
There is a tall blue candle here that has burned
all day. Tonight there was unexpected company,
just like always. I am tired, but sleeping makes
me depressed; the same goes for eating. Some
people talk to me, but most just look and go
on living, content with never having said a word.
But you said a word or two once and maybe one
day you’ll say a couple more. Breath is bated, wait,
don’t give up: this is like my mantra.
