So hungry… here’s a poem!

She lacked comprehension as to
the level he was smitten. It was high.

The winks made it worse, the ass grabs,
the little love notes left behind, for him.

They all just plunged him deeper, while she
strode in the shallows, safely. So,

when the girl finally murmured those
three terrible words back at him one night,

who could blame how lost he became
in her?

***

She knew how long the farce would last,
But not how committed the boy was to

playing. She lacked comprehension. Spring is
coming; time for new habits and a new one.

A new one, just like she would joke to him,
a new one.  New shoes, new dogs, new walks,
and boys.

The play is the thing, but she lacked comprehension,
and will start playing again.
