November has come, (almost)

October is almost done, and in the past I’ve noticed that November frequently follows. Bully for me then, because that means I can attempt to write another novel. Of course, that’s what I need. Another project that dollars to doughnuts I won’t finish. I mean, let’s add it all up: 1 silly fantasy novel with my little bro; 1 old NaNoWrimo novel that I’m 20,000 words into and desperately want to finish someday; poem-a-day boyo!; 1 novel I started in college. It’s written in first person present. It’s a fucking nightmare.

And now, I’ll have another novel for this upcoming November. What will it be about? I can’t say. Will it be interesting? Maybe. How bad will the writing be? Not the worst. Will I finish?

Now that’s a question! Possibly, is the answer.  I have a plan, a beautiful plan. Last year I told myself, ‘I have to write about 3,000 words a day.’ Everything was going fine and dandy, until, I think there was a party, or I just got too depressed to write one night, or maybe I was just playing video games and forgot to do some work. Regardless, the project was not finished. This year though, I have a new plan. I will now write 4,000 words a day instead. This way, after five days of writing, I’m 20,000 words in. Fuck yes, I’m nearly half-way done and it hasn’t even been a week. Wow. This feels good guys. It’s like I’ve already written a novel.

In order to get into shape for this project, I want to get in the habit of writing 4,000 words a day. Look for some late October short stories. I’ll post one every day until the month of November starts.

That’ll show you, world.
